The Spruce Pine Zoning Review Committee conducts workshops on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning at 4:00pm.
This committee serves along with Town staff and the High Country Council of Government to administer a comprehensive review and rewrite of the Towns Zoning Ordinance. This project began June 2025 and is anticipated to be adopted in late fall of 2026.

Completed Building, Planning, and Zoning Forms can be submitted to twinchester@sprucepine-nc.gov or in person at Town Hall.
Purpose:
The Planning Board is an advisory board to the Town of Spruce Pine Town Council. The planning board reviews rezoning requests, text amendments and special use permits that require planning board comments.
Purpose:
The Board of Adjustment preforms quasi-judicial hearings for variance and appeal requests for Town of Spruce Pine ordinances.
The board consists of five members appointed by the Spruce Pine Town Council to serve three-year terms. Board members customarily continue to serve beyond their term until they request to step down or a successor is appointed. The board meets on an as-needed basis. Meeting dates and times are posted on the front door of Town Hall in advance of each meeting.
