The Public Works Department for the Town of Spruce Pine is responsible for maintaining essential infrastructure and ensuring daily operations run smoothly both within the town limits and in surrounding service areas. While the Town contracts with American Water Services to operate the water and wastewater treatment plants, the Public Works team maintains the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This includes installing, maintaining, and reading water meters.

In addition, the department provides a wide range of services, including street maintenance, snow removal, leaf and brush collection, and white goods pickup. These services play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall quality of life in Spruce Pine.
